Eracent Designates ClearArmor® As Its Cybersecurity Subsidiary; Names William Choppa As Chief Executive Officer
Eracent, Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions, has designated ClearArmor, an innovative developer of CyberSecurity Resource Planning (CSRP) tools, as the new cybersecurity-focused subsidiary of the company.
Bruce Hafner will continue in his role as President of ClearArmor, and Eracent President and Board member William Choppa has been named as Eracent’s Chief Executive Officer, leading both organizations.
ClearArmor’s integrated CyberSecurity Resource Planning solutions help enterprises proactively integrate with their current security tools, and plan and document their cybersecurity processes to achieve and maintain compliance with NIST, ENISA and GDPR guidelines.
“Our customers and prospects have demonstrated that network and endpoint security is increasingly more important to them, and their ITAM and SAM programs often play an integral part from providing data to supporting critical security processes,” stated Mr. Choppa. “With that in mind, this is an ideal time to align ClearArmor’s advanced functionality with Eracent’s existing security features like application whitelisting and blacklisting, software baselining, vulnerability assessment and mitigation, and product end-of-life data.
Eracent and ClearArmor co-founder and Chairman Walt Szablowski outlined the synergy between the company’s multi-pronged approach to network and endpoint security. “Our customers will benefit from the intersection of Eracent and ClearArmor solutions. They’ll first be able to gather and manage micro-attributes of all hardware and software on their networks, then they can progress to the next level by establishing a proactive and repeatable protection strategy with clear, documented process steps. Most organizations have multiple tactical security tools, but few have a strategic methodology to merge and manage the detailed information and processes. ClearArmor provides the framework to bring these together.”
This reorganization will also streamline operations, development, sales and support efforts as Eracent and ClearArmor share a common technology platform, and both organizations target mid-sized to very large enterprise organizations in the commercial, government and defense markets.
Eracent has focused on developing comprehensive IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions since 2000. These tools help our enterprise clients optimize their spending around hardware and software licensing and subscriptions, automate and streamline their ITAM and SAM processes, and reduce corporate risk around software publisher audits and network and endpoint security threats.
